As earlier mentioned, the Norwegian R&D institute SINTEF Ocean, launched their pilot plant Centre for bio-processing and Ingredients Research, BIOPRO, in 2017 (more here).
This week SINTEF received a temporary approval for food processing, with manufacture number TL17, from the Norwegian Food Safety Authority .
– This enable us to provide our partners with food grade oil samples, that can be used in market research, among others, says SINTEF in a comment.

The Norwegian R&D institute SINTEF Ocean, recently launched their new Centre for bioprocessing and Ingredients Research in Trondheim. Board member at Nordic Lipidforum and Quality Director at Lysi (ISL), Arnar Haldorsson, was among the invited speakers at the opening seminar.
This is part of a systematic, long term strategy and initiative which SINTEF has worked on for many years already. SINTEFs goal is to provide the lipid industry with high competance, process- and pilot plant facilites, and analytical support, that will give rise to study more thoroughly new products and smarter process solutions.
We are a small «lipid family» in the Nordic countries. Everyone knows everyone. Almost. The number of members in Nordic Lipidforum has been relatively stable for years, but with a slight decline. In time of globalisation, we are happy to see that our presence also is taken notice of outside the Nordic countries. We have now members from Peru as well!
If you know someone, either a colleague or two, a friend or professional contact, that might be interested in joining the Nordic Lipidforum, just ask them to sign up. You will find information about membership fee and an online application form here.
We hereby request all members to pass forward our website to people they believe might be interested in, and advantage of joining Nordic Lipidforum. Let us set a goal of 50 more members by the end of 2016!
